ACS Community, please see the following COVID Update:

Subsequent guidance regarding reporting and testing was acted upon late Friday.  We did not receive the information until Sunday.  Since then, we have been working to clarify the communications with appropriate authorities.

However, a clarifying email was sent to the field this afternoon from the Health Department.  In short, the guidance issued on March 1st has been extended until June 30th.

Below is the email from the Health Department.  Please note: the wording reads "At that time...".  It does not promise that required testing is gone forever, nor does it state that required testing will definitely resume in the future.  The future timeline and expectations are not clearly stated which leaves the door open for future action.   Either way, for most, this is good news.

We are writing to inform you that 10 NYCRR 2.62 has been extended through June 30, 2022. At that time, schools will not be required to test unvaccinated teachers and staff weekly, nor will they be required to offer weekly screening testing to students.
