Dear Avon,

The latest data on our COVID cases can be found below. Looking ahead to the Memorial Day weekend, the testing site will be closed Friday, May 27 and Monday, May 30, due to school being closed those days. The testing site will be open longer hours on Tuesday, May 31, to allow time for anyone who would like an appointment coming off the long weekend.

ACS Diagnostic COVID Testing- We are testing every day!

  • Testing schedule for next week: Monday and Thursday 8 am-3 pm. Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 am-11 am.

  • As a reminder, testing is available as a diagnostic/response test. If you or your child would like a rapid shallow nasal-swab diagnostic COVID test, please fill out the survey at THIS LINK  to choose a time to be tested. You will also receive a consent form and intake form that will need to be completed prior to the test. If you have any questions please contact Michelle Burke at mburke@avoncsd.org.

  • Test results take approximately 15 minutes. You will be notified in the event of a positive only.

  • Please do not 'walk in' for a COVID Test. Tests can be scheduled quickly with a simple email.

  • We have not changed our practice regarding home tests. We do not accept negative home test results, only positives, at this time.

  •  As a reminder, individuals who have tested positive are expected to wear a mask when they return to the school setting, symptom free, on days 6-10 of their infection.

Test Kits-

  • We have test kits available for pick-up. Families are not obligated to use these kits. Interested families are asked to respond to the survey below, and indicate the number of test kits you wish to receive. All reasonable requests will be accommodated.  KN95 masks for kids are also available for pick-up, and can be requested via the survey as well.  .
