COVID Updates- Here are updates on COVID cases at ACS this week. Unless specifically noted, you can assume there were no additional school-related close contacts.
On 11/27/21 we were notified of a positive 8th grade student.
On 11/27/21 we were notified of a positive 6th grade student.
On 12/1/21, we were notified of a positive 4th grade student.
On 12/2/21, we were notified of a positive staff member.
On 12/2/21, we were notified of a positive 5th grade student.
On 12/2/21, we were notified of a positive 4th grade student.
On 12/2/21, we were notified of a positive 6th grade student.
On 12/2/21, we were notified of two positive contracted related service providers.
On 12/3/21, we were notified of a positive 11th grade student. Contact tracing revealed one school-related close contact.
On 12/3/21, we were notified of two positive 4th grade students.
On 12/3/21, we were notified of a positive 2nd grade student.
Please continue to monitor symptoms closely and have students stay home when sick.
ACS Diagnostic COVID Testing-
As a reminder, testing is available as a diagnostic/response test. If you or your child would like a rapid shallow nasal-swab diagnostic COVID test, please send an email to covid.testing@avoncsd.org. You will then receive a Google form to choose a time to be tested along with the consent form and intake form that will need to be completed prior to the test. If you have any questions please contact Michelle Burke at mburke@avoncsd.org.
Test results take approximately 15 minutes, and you will be notified in the event of a positive result only.
Testing Available at Local Walgreens-
Using the link above, you can enter your zip code to find testing locations near you. Several local sites have free rapid NAAT Tests and/or lab PCR tests. Testing is offered 7 days a week, and many locations have appointments readily available.
The Mt. Morris School District has also been testing many individuals. They respectfully request that going forward, individuals utilize Walgreens, their local school district, or other community service providers for testing.
County COVID Information-
As of yesterday, there were 260 cases in Livingston County, 20 cases within the Avon community.
As of yesterday, there were 47 cases in Livingston County Schools, and 26 active cases within Avon Schools.
