Dear Avon:
In the last year, ACS completed a comprehensive needs assessment to inform our strategic planning process. The information gathering process included surveys of staff, surveys of students, surveys of families and community members, interviews, and focus groups. In addition, we drew from previous data collected through various surveys conducted as part of the Legacy Planning Project that was initiated in 2018. The collaborative efforts resulted in Avon's strategic goals which focus on: Creating a Culture of Innovation, Developing Social Emotional Learning and Cultural Awareness, and Emphasizing Learning Paths and Career Exploration. Various teams have worked hard to address these focus areas.
As we continue to build from our needs assessment, an important task is on the horizon: long-range facilities planning. This planning means we will be looking at our buildings and grounds and seeking ways to improve them.
In the next few months, a facilities planning team will meet to begin forging plans for future building projects. We want to be certain to gather additional perspectives. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey created by our architects. It should take about 10 minutes to complete and we ask that you complete it by the end of the day on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021. The information will be reviewed by the architects and shared with the facilities planning team in order to formulate ideas for improving our learning spaces, buildings, and campus as a whole.
