Did you miss the live webinar with school finance expert, Dr. Rick Timbs, about the New York State Tax Cap and its impact on Avon Central Schools?

Don't worry, we recorded the webinar and have shared it below!

Each year by March 1, school districts are required to report their calculation for an allowable tax levy to the State Education Department.

This allowable levy number varies by year based upon a variety of economic factors that impact community finances. To learn more about how this number is established, Avon community members were invited to an informational webinar with school finance expert, Dr. Rick Timbs, executive director of the Statewide School Finance Consortium.

Timbs presented on the components of the tax cap formula with an emphasis on Avon’s tax cap history, then opened the webinar for questions from viewers.

Please note: The numbers and figures discussed in this presentation do not reflect Avon Central School District's final, 2024-25 budget proposal. They were used to add context and will continue to be adjusted as the district's projected expenses and revenues come into sharper focus.
