Each year, school districts are required to report their calculation for an allowable tax levy to the State Education Department by March 1st.  This allowable levy number varies by year based upon a variety of economic factors that impact community finances each year.


To learn more about how this number is established, Avon community members are invited to register for an informational webinar with school finance expert, Dr. Rick Timbs.  The session will take place online at 6:00 PM on Wednesday March 13, 2024.  


In the session, Dr. Timbs will spend about 30-40 explaining the history and components of the allowable tax calculation.  This will include a more focused look at Avon's history.  He will then take questions for about 15 minutes.
