As you may have heard, National Grid informed several members of the Avon community that the company will be doing large-scale electrical upgrades this weekend. This work may cause local power outages on Saturday. Please review the following related to events scheduled at ACSD.
- ACSD has NOT been informed that we will be impacted by this work being conducted by National Grid.
- However, we did connect with National Grid as there is confusion between available maps of the outage and, at last check, National Grid's map was not active.
- Our Director of Facilities visited the National Grid office and spoke with a representative. The representative showed him a map that did not include ACSD.
- We also called the National Grid service desk who also confirmed that ACSD should not be impacted. We asked for a written correspondence to confirm the information, but we were unable to get this.
- Our Athletics Department rescheduled interscholastic activities to minimize the impact in the unlikely event of an outage. This was precautionary given the difficulties of rescheduling school contests on short notice.
- At this time, and based on the information we have been able to get, ACSD plans to conduct regular weekend activities as we do not anticipate being impacted.
