Avon High School is among the state’s best according to new rankings from the U.S. World and News Report.
The annual rankings are based on students’ college readiness, reading and math proficiency, underserved student performance, college course offerings and graduation rates, among other things.
Avon’s score of 87.39 out of 100 ranked it 12th out of about 80 schools in the Rochester Metro Area, 215th out of nearly 1,200 in New York State and 2,230th out of more than 17,000 that were ranked nationally.
“Our high ranking is the direct result of the tremendous amount of hard work on the part of our students, staff and community,” said High School Principal Ryan Wagner. “I’m proud of what they do each and every day to make the promise of a high quality education a reality.”
