Q: What’s your proudest achievement from high school?

A: Going to the final four in the state softball tournament in 2022. This came after repeat sectional titles, which are the only two times Avon softball has won sectionals. It is a team that has gone down in history and I am very proud and lucky to have been a part of it.

Q: What will you miss most about school?

A: I will miss being able to see the people I have grown up with every day but most of all I will miss the art room where I spent most of my time this year.

Q: What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in high school?

A: Work hard and be involved in the community as it will pay off in the end with the knowledge and connections you will make.

Q: What do you hope your life looks like in 10 years?

A: In 10 years, I hope to be living on the coast somewhere and traveling for my job, while doing the things I love most in life.

Q: Who inspires you to do your best?

A: The people that inspire me the most are my parents. My father is one of the most kind-hearted and caring people I have ever met and he has shown me what it means to put others first. My mother is unbelievably hard working and has instilled in me what it means to have determination in life.

Q: What’s your favorite place in Avon?

A: My favorite place in Avon has to be the Village Restaurant. Best food in town hands down.

Q: If you could tell your 8th grade self one thing, what would it be?

A: I would tell my eighth grade self to pursue what you love because no one else's opinion really matters but your own.

Q: What do you want people to know about what it’s like to be you?

A: To be 18 is freeing. I can live an independent life while not being a full adult. It is a time not to take for granted before I head out into the real world.

Q: What would the title of your autobiography be?

A: “Olivia P.: 18 years felt like 40.”

Q: Who would play you in a movie about your life?

A: I have no idea because a movie would never be made about my life truthfully.

Q: What’s your most listened to song?

A: Has to be “BDE Bonus,” by Mac Miller. BDE stands for Best Day Ever and it is just overall a good song to bring up your mood.

Q: How has living through a pandemic changed you?

A: The pandemic made me realize how important friendships and connections are after being separated from people for so long.

Q: What scares you about the future?

A: What scares me the most is after graduation the possibilities are endless, but that is also the most exciting thing as well.

Q: What gives you hope about the future?

A: What gives me hope about the future is this generation's determination to make everyone feel equal no matter their race, gender, sexuality, etc.

Q: What’s one time you were stronger than you thought you could be?

A: I have no idea.

Q: What advice would you give your 38-year-old self about being a good parent to a teenager?

A: I would give the advice to just hear your children out and be understanding of their circumstances because their lives will not be the same as my generation’s, just like my parents had very different circumstances growing up than I have.
