Eleven poems authored by 11 third and fourth graders during library class have been selected for inclusion in the 2023 edition of “Young American Poetry Digest,” an annual collection published by Expressive Education that highlights quality youth poetry from across the country.

Poems were chosen for the book by a panel of educators who evaluated the overall quality of the poem based on the author’s age and grade. Other criteria considered by the panel were:

• Creativity

• Age-appropriate language

• sensory/figurative images

• Structure

• Poetic techniques

The book is expected to be released by October.

Congratulations to our soon-to-be published poets: Evan V., Preston S., Ilah R. Annalisa M., Hadley M., Emma M., Ethan H., Keaton G., Ryker G., Brayden C. and Noah W.
