Students explore benefits of exercise on Stokoe Farms field trip
Each year, High School Health Teacher Chris Cole tasks his students with undertaking a service project to better their community.
Yesterday, students in his 8th/9th period health class headed to Stokoe Farms with third graders from Avon’s St. Agnes School for a day of fun-filled physical fitness.
Students traversed Stokoe’s low ropes course, bounced their way across its inflatable jumping pillow, scaled its grain bin cargo climb, raced around its pedal car track, plus a whole lot more!
The variety of activities at Stokoe provided ample opportunity to discuss the benefits of exercise and to measure students’ degree of exertion by counting their heartbeats.
Many thanks to Stokoe Farms for hosting us yesterday and to the St. Agnes School and third grade teacher Tracy Martin for partnering with us on this important project!
