4th graders welcome new hatchlings
Mrs. Anne Hettenbaugh’s fourth graders welcomed some new classmates last week as 10 of the 12 eggs they’d been incubating for the past few weeks finally hatched!
“It’s just something fun we do through Cornell Cooperative Extension,” said Hettenbaugh. “Jennifer Schwab is the leader of CCE’s Agriculture in the Classroom and 4-H programs and she really made the whole thing possible. Teachers can sign up if interested and most materials - the eggs, incubator, thermometer, wood chips, food and even training - are provided.”
The new chicks got lots of snuggles and love from Hettenbaugh’s students last week before heading over to their forever home at Teacher Assistant Giovanna Massina house Friday afternoon!
Many thanks to Schwab and CCE for making this experience possible for our students!
