Your Avon River Hawks are more than familiar with the team that’ll be on the other side of the net from them in tonight’s girls volleyball sectional finals.

Le Roy, the #1 seed in the Section V Class C1 tournament, is 2-0 against Avon this season with a four-set win in September and a straight sets win at home in October. Last year, the Oatkan Knights were happy to end the Hawks’ sectional run with a 3-1 win in the C1 finals in Caledonia-Mumford, the same venue as tonight’s final. 

The #2 seed, Avon is 11-7 on the season and will be riding a 4-match win streak dating back to its Oct. 24 loss to Le Roy.

The Knights bring a 21-1 record to the matchup and have won 10 straight, their lone loss coming against D1 finalist Perry in September. 

Tonight’s final starts at 7 p.m. at Caledonia-Mumford High School, 99 North St., Caledonia.
