Junior is 'Featured Photographer' for October
Join us in welcoming our first featured photographer of the 2025-26 school year, Evie D., to the spotlight!
A junior at Avon High School, Evie is a fixture at River Hawk sporting events, which she shoots in her capacity as a photographer for the yearbook club.
For her feature, Evie chose a pair of untitled photographs she captured for a perspective assignment in her photography class with Mrs. Danielle Howard.
Evie’s first photo shows a tightly clustered thicket of trees set against a bright blue sky and was taken from a low angle, or worm’s eye view.
“For this photo I intended to capture it not only from a worm's eye view but to show the positive and negative space of the sky,” Evie explained.
Evie’s second shot is of her friend and classmate, Caitlin M., taking a photograph in a wooded area and is an example of candid photography.
“I took this photo the same day as my worm’s eye one. It shows Caitlin taking a photo of the trees to the side of her while she stands in the forest,” Evie said. “My intent was to put her at my eye level so when you look at the picture it feels like you're really standing there looking at her.”
Thank you, Evie, for sharing some of your work with us!
