We were thrilled to welcome alumna Mikaela Engstrom back to Avon yesterday for a Lunch & Learn presentation in our high school library. 

Engstrom, who graduated in 2022, is in her senior year at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she studies photography and serves as RIT Athletics’ Director of Photography, leading a team of fellow photographers and videographers in coverage of the college’s 22 NCAA sports teams. 

She spoke with our students about how she first became interested in photography - shout out to Mrs. Liz Patteson and her yearbook club - how she decided on attending RIT and her career aspirations in the industry. 

As if she wasn’t busy enough going to school and leading RIT Athletics’ in-house sports coverage, Engstrom also runs her own photography business, Mikaela Engstrom Photography, and freelances for the Buffalo Bills!

So far, she’s contributed to the Bills’ media day, training camp and game day coverage and is looking forward to her next assignment - shooting the team’s week 9 home game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 2.

Color us impressed, Mikaela, and just a little bit (OK, a lot bit) jealous.
