Many thanks to the East Avon and Avon fire departments for coming to speak with our elementary school students for Fire Prevention Week!

During their visit, firefighters educated our students about fire safety, showed them some of the equipment and gear they use to fight fires and respond to other emergencies and even gave them the opportunity to practice safe exit strategies in case of an emergency.

Each of our elementary schoolers also went home with a bag filled with tools and resources to help their family create a personalized emergency plan at home.

Keeping our students safe is the most important job we do here at Avon Central Schools and we’re so grateful to have fantastic community partners like the Avon and East Avon fire departments that value this mission as much as we do - we appreciate you!
