Our varsity boys track and field team had a stellar night under the lights of VanDetta Stadium Saturday, with several Hawks coming away from the Batavia Invitational as point scorers:

• 9th grader Luigi M. led the way for the boys, running the 3,000-meter Steeplechase for the first time ever and not only finishing 3rd place out of 26 runners, but also DESTROYING Avon’s 10 year-old school record by 10 seconds with a time of 10:53.32! Incredible! 

• The freshman/sophomore Relay of Luigi M. (800m), along with John D. (200m), Dylan H. (200m), and Francesco M. (400m) also took home a medal with a time of 4:09.38, good for third place overall.

• Jordan M. also took home a 3rd place medal with 2,695 points in pentathlon.

• Robert B. scored with a 5th place finish and career best in long jump with a jump of 19 feet, 9 inches..

• Finn S. scored with a 6th place finish in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:38.31.

Our boys are next in action Tuesday, May 6 in Le Roy.
