Our varsity tennis squad moved to 5-0 on the season Friday with a clean, 5-0 sweep of the Haverling Rams at home. 

In singles, Ryan W. won 6-1 7-5 over Carter Brown at first singles, Caden L. won 6-4 6-4 over Elijah B. at second singles and at third singles, Nicholas W. blanked Trenton Maurouard 6-0 6-0.

In doubles, the Avon team of Jake S. and Collin M. battled back from a set down to win over Haverling’s Ainsley K. and Gavin R. 5-7 6-2 7-5. At second doubles, Lauren H. and Ricky F. won in straights, 6-3 6-3 over Colin K. and Ian Z. 

"After a mid-match rain delay, my team regrouped, refocused, and fought back to win several come-from-behind matches,” said Head Coach Adam Wheeler. “It's tough to maintain momentum after waiting an hour for the courts to dry, but our players showed incredible resilience and persistence. I'm really proud of their effort tonight.”
