Battle of the Birds: Avon to battle Holley in girls soccer C1 final

Our varsity girls soccer squad heads to Geneseo Friday to battle the Holley Hawks for the Section V Class C1 title.

The #1-seeded River Hawks will enter the Friday night matchup averaging 3.1 goals scored per game while giving up just .9. Of Avon’s 13 total wins this season, 9 have been shutouts courtesy of goalkeeper Alaney G. and the suffocating River Hawks defense.

While #3-seeded Holley’s averaging fewer goals scored at 2.2 per game, they’re even stingier than Avon on defense, allowing just .6 goals per game from their opponents.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Geneseo High School, 4050 Avon Geneseo Rd.

Tickets are $7.75 and can be purchased online through GoFan at the link below or by scanning the QR code in the accompanying image.
