Avon Community:

The Avon Board of Education (BOE) is actively seeking a qualified individual to serve on the District’s
Audit & Finance Committee.

The desired member must be well versed in school finance matters including, but not limited to:
school-based internal audits, external audits, purchasing, State & Federal grants, NYSED reporting
requirements, capital project planning & financing, and the annual budget process. Further, the
individual must be child focused and learning centered in addition to recognizing all of the BOE’s established and required responsibilities.

Interested individuals should email a letter of interest to District Clerk Jen VanRy that briefly details
relevant experience and expresses the reasons for interest. The deadline for the letter is the close of
business (3 PM) on Thursday, August 20th.

It is the BOE’s responsibility to establish its required Audit committee. The BOE will review the letters received and determine next steps if it feels a qualified individual expressed interest.

We anticipate holding approximately 4 or 5 meetings during the 2026-27 academic year.  Typically, the meetings are conducted prior to Board of Education meetings.

Please contact District Clerk Jen VanRy at jvanry@avoncsd.org with questions and interest.
