Professional Development

The Professional Development Plan (PDP) is designed to provide quality opportunities for all district professionals to participate in staff development opportunities that supports their professional growth, and appeals to their professional interests while also improving student achievement through increasing instructional capacity.

Beliefs:

  • Learning is a lifetime process.

  • Decisions will be based upon the best information available.

  • The Board of Education, District Planning Team and building teams will collaboratively develop and align goals that will result in improved student achievement.

  • Success will be achieved by setting high expectations for the Board of Education, administration, staff and parents.

  • The dignity of the individual will be valued and respected.  Resources will be utilized to insure that all students will exceed the learning standards.

  • Students will become critical thinkers who can problem solve difficult and challenging issues.

  • The instructional process will meet the intellectual and social needs of the learner.

Purpose: To improve the quality of teaching and learning, remain current with the profession and meet the learning needs of students.

  • Tri-County Teacher Resource Center
    Tri-County Teacher Resource Center is part of the state-wide network of Teacher Centers (nysteachercenters.org) that are dedicated to providing Professional Learning opportunities to teachers across New York State. TCTRC serves teachers in Livingston, Steuben and Wyoming Counties. Each school district has a representative on TCTRC's Policy Board which is the governing body for the Teacher Center.

    Professional Development for Professional Certificate Holders

  • GVEP Certification Office
    The Teacher Certification Office provides participating districts with access to a certification specialist qualified to evaluate transcripts toward meeting certification requirements for teaching, teaching assistant, and coaching certification when a paid application for certification has been filed on the TEACH online application system. The specialist analyzes transcripts and other documentation to determine eligibility for certification, provides candidates with information on how to meet any remaining requirements and, when possible, approve a candidate for certification
