Gavin R. reads a poem Monday during Tales & Tea Leaves.

On Halloween day, Library Media Specialist Suzanne Freeman and Library Aide Dr. Catherine Loomis transformed our High School Library into a spooky stage for our first Tales & Tea Leaves event of the school year. The event is a chance for students to get up in front of their peers and read a favorite poem, share an original short story or perform a song.

“We’ve got some incredibly talented students here at Avon,” said Freeman, “and I’m proud we’re able to provide a platform for them to share those talents with their fellow students.”

More than 100 students participated in the Tales & Tea Leaves event. We’ve stitched a few clips together in the video below to give you a feel for the day. Rest assured, there were dozens of other quality performances and readings we could have shared with you. Our students have talent to spare!
