Q: What is your proudest achievement?
A: My proudest achievement thus far, is achieving salutatorian while simultaneously earning multiple sectional titles and being amongst the top-scoring divers in Section V.
Q: What will you miss most about school?
A: I will miss all the teachers that helped support me through my years in high school, especially Mrs. Coleman.
Q: What’s the most important lesson you learned in high school?
A: The most important lesson that I have learned in high school is to always ask questions and learn from your mistakes.
Q: What do you hope your life looks like in 10 years?
A: In 10 years I hope to have a successful career and a house somewhere warm.
Q: Who inspires you to do your best?
A: My older sister, Shannon, inspires me to do my best because of how hard she has worked for all that she has accomplished, and because of all the support that she gives me no matter what.
Q: What’s your favorite place in Avon?
A: My favorite place in Avon is my backyard because of all the memories I have made there.
Q: What’s your go-to Tom Wahl’s order?
A: Soft chocolate ice cream.
Q: If you could tell your eighth grade self one thing, what would it be?
A: I would tell my 8th grade self to always be yourself and stop stressing about the future.
Q: What do you want people to know about what it’s like to be you, to be your age, at this moment in time?
A: To be me, at this point in time, looks like enjoying the moment and savoring my last high school memories, while also making important decisions regarding my future and where I'll end up.
Q: What would the title of your autobiography be?
A: “Inside The Mind of Megan M.”
Q: Who would play you in a movie about your life?
A: Drew Barrymore.
Q: What’s your most-listened to song?
A: I don't have one particular most listened to song, because it changes often. But my favorite music will always be Christmas music because it just puts you right in a good mood.
Q: What scares you about the future?
A: Something that scares me about the future is not having a set plan on what path I will end up taking.
Q: What gives you hope about the future?
A: Something that gives me hope about the future is all the different opportunities that will be possible, and the option to take whatever path life leads me down.
Q: Tell me about a time when you were stronger than you thought you could be.
A: One time that I was stronger than I thought I could be was when I was a dual sport student athlete and participated in both swimming and diving and cheerleading in the same season, balancing both academics and athletics.
Q: Define the word “senioritis” and describe how it’s impacted your life this school year.
A: Senioritis to me means taking time for yourself and sometimes putting studies aside to make time for the final memories of your high school career.
Q: What trend or fad did you participate in that you will definitely regret in the future (or actively regret right now)?
A: One fad that I participated in but regret a little bit is being a VSCO girl summer of 2019.
Q: Imagine it’s 2050 and you have teenage kids of your own. What advice would you give your 44(ish)-year-old self about being a good parent?
A: My advice that I would give myself as a parent would be to stay positive and remember what it was like when I was a teen.
